IC Information:
Name: Bluestar, reincarnated as Regina.
Canon: Warrior Cats
Age: About 78 months / 6.5 years old at time of death, reincarnated at around 3 years old.
Preincarnation Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/yO0EHIp.png This is her basic appearance, based off descriptions in the books. I believe she's also supposed to have a torn right ear.
Any differences: Since Regina has been inside all her life, she has no scars on her, and is spayed.
Preincarnated History: http://warriors.wikia.com/wiki/Bluestar Here's the Wiki.
Basically, she was born into one of the four feral clans in the middle of brewing disaster that no one paid much attention to. Her uncle was crazy, her father never paid much attention to her, her mother was a sweetheart and her sister was joined to her at the hip. Her young life was pretty regular, aside from her uncle convincing her that it was her destiny to become leader at all costs. Bluepaw (so named at the time via clan customs) was an ambitious kitten, starting out curious and mischievous and quickly becoming noble and courageous.
Now, remember how her uncle is insane? When she brought her prey home one day, he decided its fur meant they had to fight WindClan and sabotage their medicine supply or be destroyed. This started a huge battle between the two clans on the shaky grounds of the "sign" and WindClan hunting on the border... and ended in Bluepaw's mother being killed by WindClan's medicine cat.
After this Bluepaw becomes depressed, even when her mentor is replaced by the ThunderClan deputy, Sunfall. At the next Clan gathering she makes friends with Crookedpaw, the future leader of RiverClan, but has to fight with him afterward in a battle with RiverClan and is upset once again.
This is about where her uncle decides it's a great time to tell her "Like fire, you will blaze through the forest. But beware, even the most powerful flames can be quenched by water." Which gives her nightmares about being drowned. The newly named Bluefur (sister to Snowfur now) shares some food with kits that turns out to be rotten; she and one of the kits get bellyaches, while the other one dies. More upsettingly, their brother Thistleclaw keeps hitting on her sister. She is not impressed.
Then again, this is where she starts falling for a RiverClan warrior, totally against the rules of the clans, named Oakheart. When they meet she does nothing but fight him, but it's love at first sight. She comes back to find that Snowfur is pregnant with Thistleclaw's kits. Or... kit. They have one son, named Whitefur. Shortly afterward, Snowfur is hit by a car while chasing ShadowClan warriors off their territory.
After her mourning, Bluefur goes right back to flirting with Oakheart. They end up sharing a night or two together, and she becomes pregnant without knowledge. She's stuck with no way to explain it, until Thrushpelt (who has had a crush on her since they were younger) offers himself up as the father. Having already been caring for Whitekit, she is now gifted with three bundles of joy named Mistykit, Mosskit and Stonekit. But now the deputy position is open, and Bluefur realizes that if she doesn't act Thistleclaw will become deputy and surely wage wars left and right.
To save her righteous position as deputy, Bluefur fakes a fox attack and leads her kits out to RiverClan territory in the middle of a snowstorm, to where Oakheart can pick them up. Mosskit dies on the way, unable to take the cold. But Mistykit and Stonekit grow up to the great warriors of RiverClan, Mistyfoot and Stonepelt. Mistyfoot even becomes leader of RiverClan one day.
In the end this works out for her; she becomes deputy, and then becomes leader. During this time Thistleclaw gains an apprentice named Tigerpaw, who starts training violently to the point of abuse and terrifies Bluefur. She keeps him close to make sure he doesn't get out of hand. Months afterward, Bluestar and Whitestorm (Whitekit) find a housecat wandering in the forest and decide to recruit him into the clan. He quickly climbs the ranks in their clan, becoming her deputy before he'd too old.
Oakheart dies off-screen, buried under a landslide while Tigerclaw kills Redtail (Bluestar's deputy).
Fireheart, as is his well-chosen name, appoints himself as Bluestar's personal bodyguard. Even protecting her against her deputy, Tigerclaw, when he starts trying to take over the Clan by force and, on several occasions, tries to kill her. But during this time Bluestar can't seem to notice. When she finally does notice her brain breaks; she trusted Tigerclaw with her life, how could she trust anyone else now? She started recluding, trusting no one but Whitestorm and Fireheart, spitting and hissing at anyone who came too close.
At some point two of the apprentices got in a fight with dogs on ThunderClan land, and one of them died while the other lost half of her face. Bluestar named her Lostface, presuming she would die anyway and wasn't worth giving a nice name to, and it was not until Fireheart became leader that she received her proper name of Brightheart.
She only gets worse from there, deciding StarClan is against her, going absolutely insane and collapsing under the pressure of her depression. Finally, as Tigerclaw leads the dogs into ThunderClan camp using the body of one of the cats, Fireheart goes out to lure them away and Bluestar follows to keep him safe. She hurls herself into one of the dogs, knocking it off a cliff and taking herself with it. She is drowned in the river shortly afterward, welcomed into StarClan by Oakheart's spirit.
Reincarnated History Regina was born in an animal shelter with her sister Mary, the two kittens of a pregnant cat who'd been rescued off the streets. They were both adopted by a sweet and loving family, just a man and his wife, and got pretty collars and got groomed every day and pampered with toys and expensive food and cardboard boxes. They were both neutered upon hitting puberty, but have yet to lose their kitten-like spirits. They spent their whole lives inside the house, and Mary has yet to die. Actually, nothing interesting has happened to them so far. They are ordinary, happy little kitties.
First Echo: One day while they were napping, Regina had a wonderful dream about being in a forest surrounded by smells and tastes and everything a cat wants. And then suddenly Mary was in front of her and cats running away and a car came out and hit Mary. When she woke up she was distressed and started doting on Mary, but has yet to explain anything about that to her. It left her with a string of numbers, totally meaningless to a cats, and wanderlust, a need to leave the house and explore. But the humans, while pampering and kind, are also very careful to not leave any doors open since they live in the city. So no outside for her.
Preincarnation Personality: "Fiercely loyal" is the best way to describe Bluestar. From the moment she was born, she would always choose her friends carefully and protect them with her life. She prides herself on being an excellent judge of character, which is mostly because she rarely trusts from the start and judges by speech patterns, scent and posture instead of by "gut feeling". She's also prone to testing the personalities of others to see how much they deviate from the front they put forth for her.
Bluestar believes in harsh justice, but she sees fighting as a last resort. Sacrifices are to be made and followed through, but fighting can only happen when there is no way to avoid it. As far as she's seen, fighting can only end in pain.. but at the same time, befriending without caution ends in just as much pain. She approaches new people careful, poking at them until she can figure out if they are friend or foe, and moving from there.
Because of her canon point, she has a very dark view of the world. While she started out trusting everyone and being sure that the world is primarily good, she is now completely certain that the only things life gives you is pain and destruction. Making friends with others will only mean one more person you can be hurt by or lose. She is in a deep depression, possibly even along the lines of the PTSD given to soldiers who have survived wars. After all, she's survived the wars of the four clans for what equates to about 43 cat years, since the day she was born. All she's loved is destroyed, and now she can't even guild her remaining loved ones from StarClan.
On the plus side, the PTSD makes her very protective and heightens that afore-mentioned loyalty. If she likes you, she will give her life for you. Her place on earth is to make sure those around her don't suffer like she did, make sure that they don't lose that view that there is good in the world. If her loyalty is gained, it is hard-won; it may take months and months for her to get accustomed to someone new. It probably doesn't help that she's just a little bit crazy; if allowed, she will hiss and spit about traitors and coward until kingdom come. It takes serious work just for her to see someone as a nice person; and after that, she quickly begins bonding to them, testing them, kneading them into a shape she can handle, and becomes their personal bodyguard.
Even in her crazy mode, her main thoughts are for the good of others. Bad execution, but the intentions are there. She wouldn't care about traitors if she didn't want her clanmates to be safe from there, and wouldn't have died if not for her need to make sure Fireheart stayed safe. She's always been an ambitious person from the moment she entered the world, but her ambition has always been to serve the Clan and sacrifice herself for the greater good. The downside is that, now that she has nothing left to sacrifice, she claws at others in an attempt to find an anchor. Anything that will drag her out from rock bottom, now that she's buried herself there. Because of this she is both overbearing and unreachable, nearly impossible to talk to for long since she rarely does anything but spit insults and force others to do "favors" for her. But in the end, she will always repay what she asks for.
And Bluestar will always have a soft spot for kittens. If a young cat is in trouble in any way, shape or form, she will be right there to save them, give them food, let them curl up with her. Any cat can get automatic attention from her when they're in trouble, but it's kits who deserve the most attention. Unfortunately she's more used to cats dying than being healed, so she will often leave those mortally wounded or gravely sick to die without thinking twice. As seen by the fact that she immediately assumes Brightpaw will die and gives her a sadistic name, instead of waiting to see if she heals. She is convinced her deity has forsaken her, so anyone who's in danger and spends too much time around her will probably die anyway.
Fun fact: Bluestar was given nine lives upon becoming leader. That's right, she's died nine times. Talk about a bleak perspective on life.
Because of the various deaths she's experienced, she is scared of water, unstable rock fixtures, rats, garbage, cars, fire, dogs, foxes, heights, badgers, snow, and large male cats. Which are probably pretty good fears to have.
Any differences: Regina is a much simpler character. She is a pampered little housepet, bright-spirited and refined and always welcome to playing around in cardboard boxes. Seriously, she's a freaking cat. She likes bells and laser pointers, and snuggling with her sweetheart sister, and could probably not survive a day without her Fancy Feast. She has no idea how to hunt, but can shred mouse toys and curtains without a problem. And she is prone to napping on her owners' faces while they sleep. And, as of her first echo, would really like to go outside. She's prone to pawing at the doors, rubbing figure eights on everyone's legs, and yowling at the windows. But, as of yet, has not gained the ability to speak or any real idea that communication is possible outside of meowing, scent signals and body language. She rarely stays for long on any area that isn't cushioned, and frequently takes naps in the sink for some reason.
Also, as her name suggests, she is the queen of everything ever and Mary is her princess. Her owners are her loyal subjects and she is sure to treat them as such.
Abilities: Bluestar is skilled at combat, especially at beating other cats into submission without killing them. She's been training since the age of six months, so no stray cat is probably anywhere near as prepared as her for battle. She's also a skilled hunter, even able to hunt birds and squirrels. She cannot, however, hunt wild rabbits or fish. She could probably easily hunt domestic rabbits, but has yet to try it. She has no interest in touching fish, since she's deadly afraid of water. She can scent much better than most cats, but is otherwise just a regular feral cat. And her scenting skills get knocked out while she's too close to humans, since she's not used to their stench. She's very good at sneaking around, as long as she's given time to get used to the surroundings (or is allowed into a forest) and can climb much faster than the average cat. She can also make nests and playing balls out of moss, as well as weaving walls out of plants... somehow. That's one of the weirder things cats can do in Warriors.
Roleplay Sample – Third Person:
It was the same forest she always dreamed about. Regina opened her mouth, tasting the air for the scent of mice and other animals. Instead, the stench of her housefolk's streets entered it. Gross. She glanced to the side, and saw her sister Mary snarling at something in front of them. Turning back, she saw three cats who all smelled like the forest. Except in a really, really bad way. Her hackles raised, Regina flattened her ears and nearly meowed to Mary to run for it - but then Mary was running ahead of her, hissing and spitting, yowling for them to get off her territory.
It all came too fast. Regina stared in horror as a car sped across her vision, flattening Mary in its tracks.
And then everything was still. Everything was quiet. Everything except a string of numbers across her vision, or what she assumed were numbers... symbols she couldn't read, but her brain registered as what they should be. The broken corpse faded out of her vision, and she screwed her eyes shut only to open them on a faceful of snow white fur. Mary was alive, and safe. But she couldn't shake the feeling that... whatever she'd just dreamed, had already happened. What was that all about? She'd never let Mary out of her sight once in her life, it couldn't have.
"Are you okay?"
"I... yeah." Regina mumbled, purring to ensure her sister that everything was okay and laying her head more comfortably on Mary's flank.
How does anyone explain what she'd just done? Sorry, it's no big deal, I just dreamed that you died horribly and I didn't do anything about it. Her ears flattened at the idea. But no, she'd have to tell Mary some time along. Secrets aren't becoming between sisters. There was, however, a proper time and place for them. And halfway through nap-time was not it.
Roleplay Sample - Network:[Regina has carefully clumped little bits of dry food into specifically numbered piles, all along her food platter so the whole thing shows her the screen. She glances backward to check that Mary hasn't seen her before settling, laying her tail over her paws and speaking up.] It seems I've recently gained the ability to speak to my housefolk. I don't think I've spoken directly to them, but they suspect me. Mary has yet to show any of the abilities I've gained so far, and... I wish she did. [Her ears fall a bit.] Have any of you looked at people recently who you've known for moons, and suddenly felt like they remind you of someone? Like there should be someone else where they stand? [Her whiskers droop.] I think Mary is getting sick of me calling her Snow by accident.
Any Questions? I'm presuming Bluestar could theoretically get her nine lives back in an echo?
